Sample Outline of Information All Staff Members Need To Know About Your New Facility

General policies/procedures:

Uniforms - review requirements

 

*

All rooms must be locked and lights turned off when they are vacant

 

*

ID tags - all staff must wear their ID tag when they come to work (if you don't have your ID tag yet, you may get one at HR anytime between the hours of 3:00-5:00pm)

 

*

Recreation Center ID card - to work out, you must purchase a $5 ID card

 

*

Our building is smoke and tobacco free

 

*

We have a Zero tolerance policy

 

*

All children under 7 yr's of age must be accompanied by an adult 18 and older in the facility

 

*

Lost and found items - will be stored in the pool storage room for one week and will then be donated to charity. Lost valuables (jewelry, watches, rings, wallets, etc.) will be stored in the safe.

 

*

Clarify hours of operation: Monday-Friday 5:30am-10:00pm (pool closes at 9:30); Saturday - 7:00am - 8:00pm; Sunday - 8:00am - 6:00pm

 

*

Kids Night Out! - will begin in January and be held on Friday nights from 7:00-10:30pm. The facility will close at 6:30pm those nights. This will be for 5-9th graders. $10/kid. This program is being running by a contracted company - There will be lots of activities including swimming, games, dodge ball, dancing, activities, and concessions.

Front desk operations:

Registration/pass sales - offered at the lower level desk only

 

*

Annual pass/punch card check in - portable station set up during busy times - express lane

 

*

Stop everyone at the front desk - everyone must check in - even participants who are registered for classes. Gymnastics, swimming lessons, early learning will all be registered classes. They must stop and check in. We need to ask them what they are here for and if they are planning on working out that day. Everyone who wants to use the facility other than for a class must pay the admission fee! - Persons who drop-in for yoga/pilates classes will receive a poker chip that they will need to give to their instructor to prove they paid their drop-in fee at the front desk

Review fees! - Distribute handout with break downs of best deals

Pro-shop - explain what we sell. Everything will be locked up every night and we will have an inventory process.

Staff not working the front desk are not allowed in that area unless they are assisting with the operations

 

*

Clipboards will be available for every room to write down notes, suggestions, frequently asked questions or unanswered questions, problems…Please check it frequently and add anything that comes up.

Will also have a suggestion box

Conference room:

Available for rentals - meetings for public and staff - see rental brochure

 

*

40 person maximum

 

*

Cost - $20/hour for residents and $30/hour for non-residents

 

*

Amenities - internet access, conference or classroom style setting, phone, projector screen, TV/VCR

Staff offices/work room:

Hours are subject to change based on demand and attendance M/W: 8:00am-11:00, 4:15-8:00pm T/Th: 8:00am-11:00, 5:00-8:00pm Fri: 8:00am-11:00, 4:15-7:00pm Sat: 8:00-11:30am

Fees - review - can pay daily, purchase a punch card, or pass holders may purchase an annual child-sitting pass - Drop-in: $3/child/hour or Annual pass holders pay $2/child/hour - 20 punch card: $50.00 (1 punch/child/hour) - Annual pass holders may purchase an annual unlimited child-sitting pass for $150.00 for the first child and $75.00 each additional child

Graffiti Wall - must submit drawings for approval- will be allowed one panel area only

Available to high school age students and older (exception: middle school age kids may use the weights/cardio equipment after completing a weight room orientation)

 

*

Cardio equipment limited to 30 minutes when others are waiting - Clipboard sign up

Equipment should be wiped down and stored away properly when finished

Stretching area

Running Track:
 

*

11 times around = 1 mile

 

*

We will be switching directions daily - clockwise Mon, Wed, Fri and counter clockwise Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun

 

*

Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult while using the indoor track

 

*

Tennis shoes and shirts must be worn

 

*

Slower participants stay to the inside - faster participants stay to the outside of the track

Locker rooms:
 

*

Men's, women's, and 6 family locker rooms

 

*

Lockers available - must bring own padlock or purchase one at front desk for $5

 

*

All locks must be removed at the end of the day or they will be cut off

Party Rooms: See flyer

Spruce Room - with full kitchen, Ponderosa Room - small kitchen

 

*

Available for 2 hour time slots

 

*

$50 residents, $75 non-residents. Fee does not include admission to the building; however, a 10% discount will be given to parties over 10 persons. Price also includes 1 free adult chaperone for every 5 children under the age of 8.

 

*

Optional party packages also available - gymnastics party, inflatable parties, climbing wall parties! Pricing for optional packages - $50 for 1-10 kids and $70 for 11-20 kids.

Climbing wall:
 

*

All climbers must have a signed waiver on file. Minors must have waiver signed by a parent/legal guardian

 

*

Climbing wall supervisors are on duty Monday-Friday from 5-9pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10am-6pm. These hours may change due to demand.

 

*

Boldering is only allowed up to 10 feet.

 

*

Gear will be available for free usage during supervised hours.

 

*

Climbers 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Climbers 13 and younger may only climb during times when a supervisor is on duty.

 

*

Climbers 14 and older must successfully pass a climbing wall orientation and belaying class before they may use the wall without supervision. If the class has not been completed, they may only use the wall during supervised times.

Gymnasium:
 

*

Available for drop-in basketball most of the time and volleyball during designated times

 

*

Volleyball nets may be dropped down and used as tennis nets!

 

*

Inflatables may also be set up in half the court for birthday party use.

 

*

One full court or two half courts - half courts will be used during drop-in times

 

*

Dunking or hanging on rims is not allowed

Gymnastics Area:
 

*

This entire area is a No shoe area effective immediately!

 

*

Entrance is through the cubbies area!

 

*

Participants will not be allowed in the area unless a gymnastics supervisor or instructor is present.

 

*

Parents are not allowed in the gymnastics area during classes. There is a waiting area just outside the area where there will be benches for them to sit and watch class.

 

*

In ground tumble track, competition spring floor exercise area

 

*

Large foam pit for practicing flips and techniques, and available for party rentals! One person at a time in the pit, feet first only!

 

*

Offer classes for children ages 2 and up - beginning, advanced and team as well as adaptive classes. New boys program!

 

*

Open gym times are available to team participants only

Fitness desk/Wellness Room/Casual Lounge:
 

*

Fitness desk will be supervised during the evenings/weekends to assist with equipment operation - both weight and cardio equipment. They will also have equipment available for check out - basketballs

 

*

Wellness room - massages, first aid, fitness assessment, personal training, possible physical therapist on site.

 

*

Casual lounge will have TV, comfy couches and chairs.
