Teach life skills to 28 juvenile delinquents functioning below grade level who were required to attend school to meet their parole/probation requirements. In my three years as P.C. Teacher, 7 students graduated from high school. (None had graduated in the sixteen years of the program before I became P.C. Teacher.) Other school responsibilities included: Head Cheerleader Sponsor and Assistant Volleyball Coach (Achieving semi-finals in State Volleyball my final year).

In 1965 I began my career with Cañon City Recreation Dept. as a "Thrower Backer" by assisting children in swimming lessons back to the wall if they were too short to touch the bottom. After being a certified teacher for two summers, I took over the directorship of the entire swimming lesson program in addition to the Head Guard position. I was promoted through the coaching ranks and coached the team to Arkansas Valley League Championship Titles as Head Coach.
